| This statue
is situated in the middle of Castle Square, which is on the site
of what was once Bridgwater Castle, and was erected in 1924 to commemorate
the people who gave their lives in World War I (1914-1918) and was
unveiled by Lord Cavan.
It depicts a seated statue
of a mother and her children and is intended to represent civilisation.
In her hand she holds the World and in her lap the Book of Law.
