www.bridgwater.net
Let me start by saying a big thank
you to all visitors and contributors to the site over the past couple of
months. Since the last newsletter the site has seen plenty of changes and
new content from Chilton Trinity School, Centurions Carnival Club, new
content on the Docks project ‘Breaking the Surface’, and a whole new
section on the Bridgwater Castle Trail. The site statistics show a total
of 81, 289 hits to the site between May 1st and July 1st.
The recent Somerfest proved to be a
big hit locally with a record number of local visits to the website during
the past month. A comments form is now available in the Somerfest
section for people to submit their comments on the festival. These
comments will go direct to the Town Centre Manager. A selection of
photographs from this and last years festivals are available on the
website, just follow the links from the Somerfest section.
A translation facility has been
added to allow foreign visitors to convert the website into their own
language with 25% of visitors coming from non-english speaking countries
this could be a valuable tool. We have had visitors from Ecuador (105
visits in the last month!), Columbia, Guam, Turkey, Estonia and many more.
The business section is being well
used with many customers renewing their advertising this year, thank you.
New advertisers on the website have been DNA Computers and Ian Beech
Images with recurring adverts from Newmarket Hotel, Flowers International,
Level 7 Computers, PHS, Thomas Wigmakers and many more with the most
visited business areas being the business search page and the
accommodation section.
On the website is a guestbook where
visitors to the site can leave comments. Whether these comments are praise
or criticism, or personal messages they are normally left there for all to
read. Any constructive comments are taken on board and the site improved
or corrected whenever necessary. Here are a couple of examples of comments
from the guestbook.
From Kate Power in Canada
‘While vacationing in Dominican Republic, I met a lovely couple, Anne
& Keef. They reside in Bridgwater. I was intrigued about where they
are from so I looked up this site. It’s great! So nice it makes me want
to visit. Hello Anne & Keef! So long everyone’.
From Tom B. in Germany
‘Hi, I am a student from your twin town Homberg in Germany. This page is
very good and interesting, better than our page www.homberg-efze.de
Good luck’.
From Ian Lorey in England
‘Hi. I just want to say how interesting I found the carnival segment on
the website’.
Thanks again for all the support
and content additions from the contributors and visitors.
Keep visiting the site.
